Movies I Can't Wait For

March 14th 2008 12:38
Well is this year going to be awesome? or a let down? I am so excited to see the upcoming big budget films such as Iron Man, Get Smart and Speed Racer. Even more so, I can't wait to experience the huge sequels on offer in 2008. Among these sequels, I am predicting that The Incredible Hulk and Batman: The Dark Knight will be the standouts.

Let me put this out there.... I have not one idea on how to predict the success of Indiana Jones 4 and Bond: Quantum of Solace. I have such high hopes on both these films being as good as their predecessors so I don't wish to comment on them and then be a massive let down.

Further into the future I have my eyes set on Transformers 2 and Tintin.

However looking past these big budget films and sequels I hope 2008 and the coming years can provide a balance that 2007 was successful in delivering. No Country For Old Men, Juno, Superbad, American Gangster, Hot Fuzz, The Darjeeling Limited and Blood Diamond were just some of the great originals that I thoroughly enjoyed in 2007.

So any movies that I have missed? Let me know what you can't wait to see this year and beyond.

Hi Sam,

I'm marginally interested in some of the titles you mentioned. A few upcoming releases that have me pining are:

David Mamet's RedBelt
Brian De Palma's RedActed
Alex Proyas' Knowing
David Fincher's The Curious case of Benjamin Buttons
Richard Kelly's The Box
Gus Van Sant's Milk
Gregor Jordan's The Informers
Clark Gregg's Choke
Steven Soderbergh's Guerilla
Kimberley Pierce's Stop Loss

I think the Iron Man is looking pretty good. I'm not sure about Transformers 2 though, the first one was a big let-down.

Yeah Iron Man is looking good Harry. I think Robert Downey Jr will be really good in it. I thought the opposite of the 1st Transformers. However I did go into it with no expectations.
