Here is the trailer for this new Australian movie, based on the series of novels written by Australian writer John Marsden; the story is about a teenager girl Ellie, and her teen friends, who decide to defend their town of Wirrawee, after learning Australia has been invaded by a hostile army.
They are unaware of how the rest of Australia is coping defending itself, the story revolves entirely around what they know and what they do, in their little bush town.
Directed by and screenplay by Stuart Beattie, who also wrote the screenplays of "Australia and Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl." Produced by Andrew Mason.

I remember reading the first of these back in the early 90's and picturing as an Australian version of Red Dawn....the trailer doesn't really live up to what I imagined.

The invading army was meant to be a made up one.
This was so he didn't piss off any other nation.

Yes, I realise the origin of the army was mixed, with some Europeans, but mostly Asian soldiers, however, I heard the author was more explicit in his book, as to who they might be.
Anyway, a lot of Asian people outside of Australia were annoyed, I read their comments on various sites, so, as always, you cannot please everyone.
